KING OF GAMES'S PROFILE
I'm a young fool and I make games via RM. I enjoy game mechanics and theories, especially new graphical experiments. I'm a master chip splicer and I draw my own resources as well. Teaching myself how to digitally paint via PS, after pixeling for several years.

Renaming Rm game folder deletes things?
Resurrecting this topic because something similar happened again, and I'm wondering if it can be related.
For a while my laptop pc had a virus. All my games in the project folder were fine. However, because of this, I was using my computer under safe mode with networking. Now in this version of my desktop (which was identical except for one thing) one of my projects reverted to an older version of itself.
When I backed up my hdd and restarted windows, and then transferred all the backed up files, that old previous version of the game had overwritten the newest version.
Does anyone have any idea as to why this might happen and if there is a chance of getting the newest version of the project back?

The Screenshot Topic Returns
Tau man, my only complaint is that the pano is wildly out of perspective. Maybe just a sky would suffice.
How does this futuristic setting sound?
Am I the only one who has to look up what midgar is? (It sounded like a Star Wars planet.)
By extension, am I the only one who hasn't been influenced/corrupted by the story/ideas/iconography of FFVII?

Well for me it's a toss up between particles and pure pixels, I can appreciate both. My application would be slightly different/more interactive in that I would have freeze traps that either freeze or damage you when you collide with it.
With the particle effect generator creating something like this (a steamy ice beam):

If it's not feasible I can do it the old fashioned way with pixels/charsets. But other ppl might find it useful for steam/fire traps as well.

Can you do accurate collision detection despite the fuzzy nature of the effects generated by the particle system?
Splitting one large game into multiple smaller games
You could also do it so each chapter includes the last chapter too. So chapter 1, then chapter 1+2, then chapter 1+2+3. So it's stacked until you release the whole game plus final chapter.
